Lemme make one thing clear, I’m all for the innovative gadgets. Sometimes though, a product comes along that seeks to push the edge a bit too far for my liking. I mean, yes, one would like to see new features added to an existing product but not at the cost of features that are quintessential to its existence.
So what is the point of adding dialing buttons to a device that is going to be attached to your ears all the time? Darfon obviously thinks otherwise. It has produced a Bluetooth device that has got its own, believe it or not, keypad. All this so that there is no need to take out your Bluetooth-enabled phone from your pocket. Equipped with Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, you can make the calling operations from this headset alone.
Pricing and availability are still a mystery, and I would hope it remains so.
The design has basic flaws that the company apparently wants us to overlook. Firstly, who would rather take the headset off from the ear instead of reaching out for the cell phone? Secondly, for all its ingenuity, the device lacks a display panel, so we would never know if the number has been keyed in correctly. Last but not the least; the headset is bigger than some of the sleek mobiles out there.
The verdict - a strict no-no.
