This was actually an ancient martial art, the traces of which can be found in many civilizations from the East to the West. Gladiators would often attach these solid, thorny spheres at the end of chains or clubs to smash the skulls of their opponents with its lethal blow. As times changed the way humans killed each other also changed and this deadly weapon that once made it to the podium at the Colosseum, got gradually confined to the frames of the museums! Designer Carlo Borer, with his ambiguous creativity, was struck with a strange idea of transforming this relic into a coffee boiler. The Saeco Etienne Louis Espresso machine, as he named it, looks like a fusion of old and new. Especially, the stand that mounts it, makes it look like a piece from sci-fi fantasy. This machine, once installed in your kitchen, will transform it into a laboratory of pin-headed scientists, who is intended at annihiliating the world any moment. Perhaps you?

Unfortunately, I believe the design is all on the subject of “looks” with nothing useful added in the way of functionality, so what you end up with is essentially a Saeco Magic in a pretty shell with a one liter tank. It’s unfortunate to have an attractive looking (and pricey!) appliance when the interior parts are bottom-end.
